Current and Upcoming Enlarged Prostate Trials (BPH)

1. Accumed Research Associates is now recruiting patients for a phase 3 clinical study for BPH (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy) or enlarged prostate. Common symptoms of BPH may include:
   • Weak or slower urinary flow
   • Frequent and urgent need to urinate
   • Having to get up at night to urinate
   • Difficulty initiating urination or waiting to start the urinary stream at times
   • Straining to urinate
   
   The goal of this study is to establish whether a single injection of the drug that is being tested could replace a daily regimen of pills or relieve patients of some or all of these symptoms. Qualified participants will receive all study related care at no cost. In this case, this will include a complete BPH evaluation by a board certified urologist, PSA and blood testing, ECG, uroflow and ultrasound of the bladder and prostate to determine actual prostate size. Participants will also be compensated for their time and travel.
   
   
2. We are currently enrolling patients for a phase 2 study to evaluate daily oral doses of an investigational medication for men with urinary symptoms secondary to benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effects of an investigational medication for the urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate.  Qualified participants may receive study medication for up to 6 months and study related care at no cost. This will include an evaluation by a urologist, lab work, EKG, ultrasound of the prostate and bladder, and urine testing. Patients may be compensated for their time.
   
   Patients that have this condition have common symptoms that may include: *Slow urinary stream, urinary hesitancy, arising to urinate at night, urinary frequency and urinary urgency. To enroll in this study you cannot have a past medical history of prostate surgery or prostate cancer, or have a PSA greater than 10. Other restrictions apply as well.
